The Stages
All Action Pistol stages contain four courses of fire completed at four distances. Each stage requires 48 rounds to complete, and a perfect score for each stage is 480 points with 48 X’s for a total of 1920/192X.

The Practical is a stage of pure accuracy under time. Two AP-1 targets are spaced three feet apart. The shooter will perform each string of fire from the surrender position (wrists above shoulders) and re-holster the firearm after each string to prepare for the next. Shooter will walk with a loaded and holstered firearm from one yard line to the next. Shooters are permitted to go prone at the 15, 25, and 50 yard lines. On the start signal:
10 Yards
String One: 3 seconds, one shot on each target.
String Two: 4 seconds, two shots on each target.
String Three: 8 seconds, three shots on each target, weak hand only.15 Yards

String Two: 5 seconds, two shots on each target.
String Three: 6 Seconds, three shots on each target.25 Yards

The Barricade stage requires shooters to shoot on either side of a 2-foot-wide by 6-foot-tall barricade with a two-foot by three-foot shooting box. Two AP-1 targets spaced six feet apart with the barricade situation directly center of the two targets. The start position for each string of fire is palms on the barricade, firearm holstered. You may choose which side of the barricade (left or right) you will engage first. Shooters will holster their loaded firearm between each string.

The Plates requires shooters to engage a plate rack consisting of six plates eight inches in diameter spaced one foot apart, edge to edge. At each yardage, shooters will shoot two strings of fire. Between each string, plates will be reset. Each plate that falls counts ten points and one X. On the start signal, competitors engage targets in any order they desire as follows:

The Mover stage requires the shooter to engage a moving target (AP-1C) traveling ten feet per second. The first string of each yardage always begins with the target on the right traveling to the left. Once the target becomes visible, the shooter will draw their firearm and engage the target with the appropriate number of rounds.
